Kuehne + Nagel is helping its customers optimise their Supply Chain on a national or global level, providing integrated, end-to-end solutions based on the expertise of its business divisions. Virgin Megastore is relying on Kuehne + Nagel to create its central stock in France to supply all of its shops. Since December 2006, Kuehne + Nagel has been managing warehousing and distribution of 7 Paris-based shops. In April 2008, activity was transferred to the multi-user "Retail" platform in Bondoufle.
"In an area covering 7,800 m², K+N now manages our 31,000 references with the WMS On Demand service by Generix Group. Price/product labelling is done on reception (automatically or manually), and preparation is managed on D or D+1 depending on the transport plan. Within the framework of the Callas project, we have extended the service to 36 shops in 6 product departments" explained Jean-Noël Reinhardt, CEO of Virgin. (*) The 36 French Virgin Megastore shops are supplied in JIT mode and returns are managed centrally. Kuehne + Nagel and its customers select solid, reliable and effective supply chain management solutions that are easily interfaced with market ERPs and that can integrate cutting-edge technologies. WMS On Demand has also been chosen by Kuehne Nagel to manage the logistics of espresso leader, Lavazza France.
"...PepsiCo France forecasts savings of 3% in transport costs and 2,000 tonnes less of CO2 in 1 year..."
Testimonial published in "L'Officiel des Transporteurs"
An entity of the 2nd food product group in the world, PepsiCo France claims a "start-up" spirit to develop its brands on 3 distribution channels. Within the framework of a major project to revamp the Supply Chain, the industrial firm is setting up a radically innovative organisation of its production and logistics. It is transferring its production to 4 factories in France, outsourced to industrial firms in the sector, therefore to competitors such as Orangina Schweppes or Refresco. It is removing its former storage platforms and 80% of customer deliveries are now made directly from the manufacturing sites in a pooled manner. The results are without appeal and ROI attained in 6 months. For the restaurant and catering channel, implementation of the GCS TMS On Demand solution by Generix Group makes it possible to calculate the best delivery circuits, at the same time optimising truck loads thanks to combining heavy and light products. Pallets of crisps are positioned on top of pallets of drinks. This increases truck loads by 20% for this activity where previously the load was 40% full.
With GCS EWR Plus by Generix Group, each factory calculates replenishment orders from customer warehouses in supermarket distribution by mixing the products of 4 pooled players (pooled supply management). Truck loads are always full and customers receive smaller quantities of each reference on a more regular basis. Stocks are thus reduced to 50% and the customer fill rate is 99.6%.

"...Carrefour creates CCC for just-in-time flows of dry goods..."
Article published in "Supply Chain Magazine "
[...Consolidation and Collaboration Centres (CCC) are at the heart of the just-in-time strategy (cross docking) of the Carrefour group. This is a change for the brand-name, the aim being to drastically reduce stocks of dry goods, but it is also a change for the majority of its suppliers too, who will have to pool their supplies and stocks. In the midst of it, logistics providers will be able to offer added-value services beyond goods-in, preparation and delivery.
(...) Pooling resources in a CCC offers small suppliers the possibility of benefiting from effective goods-in, storage, order preparation and dispatching services at pooled rates, with modern and efficient systems (WMS, RF terminals, voice system). In terms of computing (WMS, collaborative portal, pooled management of supplies), each centre will use the same solution, usable "on demand", as Carrefour has decided to use the On Demand collaborative offers of Generix Group, based on the SaaS (software as a service) model. "I want all of our current partners to experience the CCC field this year. There will be six or seven platforms before the end of the year. This will concern 300 to 350 suppliers in 2009, and 500 to 600 at the end of 2010", forecast Didier Thibaud, Supply Chain France Director, Carrefour ...]
