To increase its competitiveness as a leader on the Brazilian market, Carrefour Brazil has chosen the SaaS Generix Supply Chain solution to manage its warehouses. It will be deployed in all the Carrefour group's distribution centers throughout the country.

Generix Group, a publisher of collaborative SaaS solutions for the Supply Chain and Retail ecosystem, announces the evolution of the Carrefour Group's warehouse management system (WMS) in Brazil towards SaaS (Software as a Service) model.

Carrefour has been using Generix Group solutions for many years in several countries around the world. Over the next 10 months, this solution will be deployed in 12 Carrefour distribution centers throughout Brazil, including the largest in the country, but also one of the largest in the world, with over 94,000 square meters.

In total, more than 280,000 square meters of storage space will be managed with the Generix SaaS solution.

This is a strategic decision for the Carrefour group, since Brazil is the second most important market after France, its country of origin. Therefore, the project has already been thought to integrate improvements, extensions and new features in the short/medium term.

The move to SaaS model will help Carrefour create a centralized management model for the entire distribution center network. This model aims to bring much more agility to the dynamics of continuous improvement, in the context of redesigning the logistics network. This standardization will facilitate the evolution of existing warehouses or the opening of new ones and will allow for the automation of processes in each distribution center across the network.

The new features will increase performance through the use of new interliving and slotting algorithms. Another major benefit of the solution is the labor management module, which will facilitate the control of resource management.

In addition, the project includes the implementation of the Generix Datapower solution, which will take full advantage of Big Data and Data Analytics technologies to benefit Carrefour's operations. This solution will enable better control of operational performance indicators in real time.

"We have been Carrefour's partner for a long time and we are very pleased to continue to support the Group as it evolves in its markets by providing highly scalable solutions that support this growth, such as WMS and Datapower. This major step is in line with Carrefour's global strategy to migrate to the cloud", comments Julien Boisnet, Chief Sales Officer of Generix Group.

"The migration of our solutions to SaaS opens the doors of Carrefour in Brazil and elsewhere in the world to the complete digitalization of the Supply Chain. It will enable us to optimize our operations thanks to the great flexibility and scalability of Generix Group's WMS solution, which has been accompanying us for many years worldwide. Moreover, the extension to new functionalities such as slotting and triangulation, for example, in the near future, will be facilitated"
