European Commission's EURINV program: Generix Group is pleased to announce its compliance with European interoperability standards for e-invoicing

On September 8, 2020, in front of representatives of the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility* program, Generix Group successfully presented the developments carried out as part of the EURINV** project. This presentation finalizes the program and enables Generix Group’s customers to benefit from the new European standards for e-invoicing.

Press release

Since September 2019, Generix Group has been a member of the EURINV consortium, bringing together 6 e-invoicing operators and 2 local authorities. Funded by the European Commission, the program’s objective is to “implement the European standard within e-invoicing cloud platforms”. This innovative project will enable the new European standards to be deployed in support of e-invoicing and its interoperability.

During the presentation to the Commission representatives, Generix Group demonstrated the implementation, within its Generix Invoice Services solution, of the electronic invoice syntax standards EN-16931**, UBL 2.1 and UN-CEFACT CII, as well as the AS4 e-SENS Profile interoperability protocol. In live, Generix Group successfully exchanged invoices in UBL format with two other consortium participants, OPTUSCAPITA (NL) and SATA (IT). The exchanges were carried out via the PEPPOL e-Delivery Network between the 3 providers “PEPPOL Access Point Certified Providers”.

GENERIX Group guarantees interoperability and regulatory compliance to its customers in all 27 countries of the European Union.

Generix Group’s services users will benefit from these major achievements. Allowing them to send and receive electronic invoices that comply with European standards and obligations. The implementation of these standards will generate savings by limiting interface efforts and accelerate the development of e- invoicing worldwide. The European UBL standard is already deployed in 40 countries including North America, South East Asia and Australia.

These innovations also provide our customers with a guarantee that their invoices will be compliant in the event of a tax audit. Generix Group has implemented the XSLT sheets provided by the European Commission. Each exchange is certified as conforming to the model with some 1,000 rules applied. Any anomalies or warnings are immediately detected and documented. With this architecture, we will also ensure the progressive maintenance of the standards by taking advantage of the ongoing update of these sheets”, says Christophe Viry, Product Marketing Manager at Generix Group.

Generix Group is preparing for the upcoming French regulatory obligations resulting from the implementation of Article 153 of the 2020 Finance Law.

The General Department of Public Finance will soon present its recommendations to the National Assembly regarding the fight against tax fraud through mandatory electronic invoicing. Several architectures are being considered: e-reporting of invoicing data, invoice clearance, pre-filing of VAT declarations, … and discussions on data’ nature are ongoing.

As for the selected electronic invoice formats, the French administration will confirm its compliance with the European Directive 2014-55-EU making it mandatory the use of the UBL 2.1 and UN-CEFACT Cross Industry Invoice syntaxes in the public sphere within the Union.

* The Connecting Europe Facility program is administered by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (IENA) within the European Commission. It funds calls for projects that promote the dissemination of standards and standardized technical components within the 28 member states. This plan promotes digital interoperability in areas such as digital identification, archiving, electronic invoicing, electronic signatures, etc.
